Highlander February 15, 2012

Title: Friendly Drink
Author: KerrAvonson
Rating: All ages
Word Count: 450
Characters: Ninth Doctor, Rose Tyler, Methos, Duncan Macleod

Amusing vignette – the confusion of non-linear meetings for time travellers and immortals… (The author has also written two drabble crossovers with Methos and the Doctor: Geodesy – the First Doctor in the Library of Alexandria – and Fall, a double drabble featuring the Second Doctor and Methos in the Himalayas).

Title: Twisting Timelines
Author: amaresu
Rating: All ages
Word Count: 1737
Characters: Tenth Doctor, Martha Jones, Methos (slight Methos/Martha)

I don’t really know Highlander (still) but this is a well-written, thoughtful crossover, with Martha and Methos (and the Doctor) meeting in a non-linear way, not unlike River Song and the Doctor would later.

Angel March 6, 2011

Title: Remembrance
Author: Kerr Avonson
Rating: All ages
Word Count: 200
Characters: Ninth Doctor, Angel

The Doctor and Angel, comparing notes, when it comes to certain kinds of sacrifices. Double drabble.

Title: So We Sailed On To The Sun
Author: ProfessorSpork
Rating: All ages
Word Count: 2747
Characters: Ninth Doctor, Jack Harkness, Rose Tyler, Lorne, Angel, Wesley Wyndham-Price, Cordelia Chase.

Nice thoughtful, fun crossover, with all the voices particularly accurately done.

Blake’s 7 January 13, 2011

Title: Turning a Corner
Author: KerrAvonson
Rating: All ages
Word Count: 945
Characters: Ninth Doctor, Cally

Rose AU in which it’s Cally the Doctor meets rather than Rose Tyler. A bittersweet vignette, nicely characterised, especially Cally’s reactions to the TARDIS. (This author has written a whole series on this premise: Cally and the Doctor, please note some of it is adult-rated).

Title: Game, Set and Match
Author: Selena
Rating: PG / Teen
Word Count: 2256
Characters: The Master (Simm), Servalan, Kerr Avon

Post Gauda Prime, so spoilers for Blake’s 7. Servalan resurrects the Master, and neither of them get what they bargained for. Very clever.

Title: Hitching A Ride
Author: vvj5
Rating: All ages
Word Count: Drabble
Characters: Tenth Doctor, Soolin

The Doctor looks in the wrong place for a companion.

Buffy & Angel July 12, 2010

Buffy

Title: Infiltration
Author: Forge
Rating: Teen
Word Count: 12,868 (8 chapters)
Characters: Seventh Doctor, Ace, Faith Lehane, Rupert Giles, Willow Rosenberg, Kennedy, Buffy Summers, Vi, Xander Harris

Dark, and intriguing. WIP, but there’s enough here to make it worth recommending nonetheless. This author is consistently excellent.

Title: Brightening
Author: Kerr Avonson
Rating: All ages
Word Count: 200
Characters: Eighth Doctor, Buffy Summers

Brief vignette of the two in passing. Lovely.

Angel

Title: The Enemy Within
Author: mrtc2003
Rating: PG
Word Count: 1545
Characters: The Master (Ainley), Angel

This is an interesting, dark crossover that brings out the similarities and differences in both characters and works very well in looking at the gap in the Master’s story between Survival and the TV Movie. (There are a couple of basic punctuation slips in the dialogue, but the rest is well-written enough to make it easy to overlook.)

Title: Paperwork
Author: Kerr Avonson
Rating: All ages
Word Count: Drabble
Characters: Seventh Doctor

Just a gleeful, wonderfully Seven-ish drabble.

Stargate (SG1) November 25, 2009

Title: Never A Dull Moment
Author: AstroGirl
Rating: All ages
Word Count: 2085
Characters: Romana II, Daniel Jackson, Fourth Doctor, Jack O’Neill

I don’t watch Stargate and I just loved this. It’s sweet and funny with lots of cliches of the shows being exploited, Romana being both terribly clever and enjoyable company and the Doctor and O’Neill run around in amusing ways while hairy aliens attack and things blow up. What more could anyone ask for?

Title: A Dubious Ally
Author: Kerr Avonson
Rating: All ages
Word Count: 2333
Characters: Fifth Doctor, Jack O’Neill, Nyssa

Okay, are there any bad, incomprehensible Stargate crosses? This is great with the Doctor getting tangled in Jack’s world and it being pretty much business as usual for the Time Lord. With a very entertainig ending. Lovely! (There’s a double drabble of a sequel here, too.)

Hitch Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy September 17, 2009

Title:Things That Never Were
Author: Kerr Avonson
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 1616
Characters: Eighth Doctor, Arthur Dent, Ford Prefect

According to the Guide, Daleks don’t exist. This doesn’t mean they can’t kill you. Lovely!
